Donated Housing

A person may bypass the DDD community placement waiting list by donating a house to an agency.  The person with disabilities (as well as other individuals from the waiting list living in the donated house) would then be funded primarily by DDD.

A house (or condo, townhouse, etc.) could be purchased for this specific purpose to meet the individuals’ needs.  After a certain period of time, ownership of the property would revert to the agency providing services.

The money for ongoing services would be provided by DDD (the state) for as long as the person lives.

The agency would then continue providing services under contract with DDD.
